In most cases, people don't know what a carburetor is?? How its work, or is it essential or not??? They even don't know how to clean a carburetor without removing it. To begin with, we have to know about carburetor.

Definition of Carburetor: What is carburetor means??

How to clean a carburetor without removing it

The carburetor's function is to produce a combustible air mixture by mixing the proper amount of fuel with air as for the engine load requirement. It mounted directly on top of the engine. It flows the air and causes pressure so that fuel comes out from the fuel box. This process mixes with the air and makes the machine more powerful.

Parts of a carburetor:

If you don't know about its parts, you will understand which part is working or essential to clean. So, let's memorize its features.

Air filter: There is an air filter that filters out all the incoming impurities with air into the carburetor.

System function: These valve systems hold many types of gasoline inside the float bowl. When the number of fuels inside the float bowl decrease and cross the limited line, the float line opens and takes fuel. When the necessary amount of fuel is reached, float closes the fuel supply wall. Thus, stop the extra fuel flow from the supply system.

Float chamber: The float bowl is on the upstream side of the venturi. This process will keep the float the room at atmospheric pressure.

Venturi: at the time of suction stroke, the air is attacked by the venturi. When air crosses by venturi once, the velocity increase reaching mostly to the venturi throat. Hence the velocity increases, the pressure at the venturi torque decreases. They become lower than that of the pressure inside the float chamber. The floating chamber's atmospheric pressure pushes the fuel's fuel to rush through the metering office and comes into the venturi throat from the fuel discharge nozzle. Since the opening of the fuel discharge nozzle is small. As the fuel comes out of the discharge nozzle, it atomizes and mixes with the air, making a uniformly mixed air-fuel mixture.

Throttle valve: throttle valve usually of butterfly type, which is situated after a venturi tube.

Choke wall: Another butterfly tube is provided before the venturi tube that is called the choke wall.

  • The air fuel mixture which is also called as charge is fed into engine cylinder.
  • The pressure difference between the float bowl and the throttle valve is called carburetor depression.
  • To avoid the fuel's overflow to the spurt, the float chamber's fuel level is sustained to some extent below the fuel discharge nozzle's tip.
  • The engine of gasoline is amount controlled, which means that when the power comes out at a certain different speed, the number of charges released to the engine cylinder is different.
  • If the throttle is fully closed, no air will flow through the venturi. In this case, the idler air bleed will supply sufficient fuel air mixture so that engine is idling.
  • Idling means in other words to keep the engine in a running condition when the vehicle is not in motion.
  • If the throttle wall partially open, less air will flow through the venturi. Thus, less air flow will produce less pressure drop which in turn causes lesser fuel to discharge through the discharge nozzle. Hence less air fuel mixer is delivered to the engine cylinder. Therefore, power output is reduced.
  • If the throttle wall is opened fully, more air will flow through the venturi. Thus, more air causes more pressure drop which in turn causes more fuel to discharge through the discharge nozzle. And hence more air fuel mixture is delivered to the engine cylinder. Therefore, power output is increased.
  • Choke wall is choking or blocking the air supply, causing significantly less air to pass through it. It helps us in winter for starting the engine.
