Cleaning the brake caliper and piston is almost the same process as brake pad cleaning. When you see your brake caliper and piston are dirty, oily, dusty, and greasy, you can use the brake cleaner to remove all those waste elements from your brake caliper piston. For this, you should follow some steps that are given below.

  • It would help if you had a jack to take off the car's caliper and shift it with a jack stand. Remove the caliper carefully and notice the brake lines are secured. 
  • Check the piston has been attached to the brake caliper, which is also needed to clean. Take a tray and put it under the brake caliper and piston.
  • Now spray on the brake caliper and piston to remove all the dirt and grease. You can use a spoon or a brush or sandpaper to remove this element. When you found a small hole, then you can use a toothbrush.
  • For the first time, all the dirt will not remove properly. So you can use it for the second time.
  • Spray on the top to bottom.
